The role of continuous casting mold

(1) At the highest possible pulling speed, ensure the thickness of the mold shell to prevent leakage. (2) The thickness of the slab periphery should be uniform. The solidification behavior of molten steel in the mold has a significant impact on the surface quality of the cast slab and the normal production of the caster. Therefore, there are the following requirements for the crystallizer:

(2) The thickness of the slab periphery should be uniform.

The solidification behavior of molten steel in the mold has a significant impact on the surface quality of the cast slab and the normal production of the caster. Therefore, there are the following requirements for the crystallizer:

(1) In order to make the molten steel solidify quickly, the mold wall should have good thermal conductivity and water cooling conditions.

(2) In order to make the solidified shell of the primary green body and the inner wall of the crystallizer not bonded and the friction force is small, the crystallizer should move up and down and add lubricant during the pouring process.

(3) In order to make the billet shape correct and avoid the influence of the mold deformation on the billet drawing, the mold should have sufficient rigidity.

(4) The structure of the crystallizer should be simple and light in weight.

The crystallizer is lined with copper and copper alloy with very good thermal conductivity, and the outer jacket is cooled by water. Its own structure is divided into copper inner wall, jacket and sink 3 parts.
